Jon qualified as a solicitor in 1997 with Clarks Legal in Reading specialising in insolvency but also managing a litigation and banking portfolio of cases. In 2004 Jon left private legal practice to work in house for a former insolvency practitioner client opening their Bristol office that year. Jon passed the JIEB the following year and commenced taking insolvency appointments shortly afterwards. After a short period working for another national firm of insolvency practitioners setting up a number of offices in the South West and Wales, Jon jointly set up SWBR in 2014.

Jon has dealt with a number of large corporate insolvency assignments including trading administrations but is equally happy dealing with small owner managed businesses.
Jon can usually be found in Screwfix at the weekend pursuing his hobbies of renovating old houses, wooden boats and old cars.

Hywel hails from Pontypridd and is a founder member of the business. In 2004 Hywel left the banking sector to train with a national firm of Insolvency Practitioners gaining extensive experience in all aspects of insolvency and obtaining his AAT Certificate. Since 2009 Hywel has increasingly focused on engagements in the South Wales area dealing with a range of concerns from large corporates to small owner managed businesses.

Hywel completed his Certificate of Proficiency in Insolvency exams in 2011 and subsequently set up the Cardiff office of a national firm of Insolvency Practitioners leaving in 2014 to set up SWBR.

When not at work Hywel likes to follow his local rugby team.

Rob is a licensed insolvency practitioner with nearly 30 years experience in both personal and corporate restructuring and insolvency predominantly specialising in the SME market advising corporate clients in financial difficulties and providing appropriate solutions. His career has included a number of positions from working for a big six firm and a mid-tier firm to several smaller firms and boutique restructuring and insolvency practices. Sector experience includes charities, construction, farming, hotels, manufacturing, printing, property, research & development, transport and wholesale & retail.

Rob provides advisory and restructuring advice and solutions to both companies and individuals throughout the South West and Wales, Midlands and the South and is a member of the Association of Business Recovery Professionals (R3) and the Insolvency Practitioners Association.

Outside of work Rob enjoys a bit of DIY, watching rugby and cricket, cycling, socialising and occasionally revisits his younger days with a trip to the coast with his surf board.

Sam is a Chartered Certified Accountant, an alternative debt resolution provider and a Business Recovery & Insolvency Practitioner with 30 years of experience.
He is known for his empathetic and pragmatic approach to providing solutions to both individuals and Owner-Managers / SME businesses facing financial or operational uncertainty.

He has a wealth of experience and knowledge of accountancy, taxation, and solvent / insolvent restructuring processes. He understands the impact of insolvency has on both family-owned concerns and larger private corporates having been involved in a diverse range of businesses and industry types dealing with the shop floor to the Board room.

He prides himself on providing tailor-made workable solutions to clients.
Sam regularly contributes to Business Publications and acts as a Mentor to the Fredericks Foundation providing pro bono advice to new and existing businesses.
He enjoys playing various stringed instruments, reading, golf and martial arts.
